Employer engagement with the Diploma is key and can take shape in different ways. For example, it is possible to assist with the set-up of a work experience placement or it could be something more involved like helping to design a series of lessons that can help students complete their coursework.
Below are a couple of files designed and used by Unipart graduates (Christian, Aaron, Esme and Claire) to help our BTEC Business Students. The Graduate's overall brief was to "illustrate how good planning and setting practical guidelines can help you complete a BTEC Business unit".
Tasks:
Draw a Pig on a blank sheet of A4 paper. Write your name at the bottom of the sheet and the age you would like to be. You have 3 minutes to complete this task.

Now try drawing a pig but using the grid system demonstrated by your Teacher (a pig is drawn but with gridlines over the top to allow students to copy one square at a time on their blank grids). Notice how it is much easier and much better?!
Now look at the guideline for completing a BTEC Business unit (the same principles apply) - Download Writing BTEC Business coursework SOP - Students can be taken through each step and learn that by setting guidelines and deadlines, they can complete that dreaded piece of work!
